Film - BAFTA Award Nominations Announced
The nominations for the EE British Academy Film Awards in 2016 have been announced and the winners are predicted by Steve Taylor-Bryant...
The award nominations were announced yesterday morning from BAFTA HQ by Stephen Fry & Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
Bridge of Spies and Carol did best in the nominations, each receiving nine, including both being nominated for Best Director. The Revenant is nominated in eight categories, including best film. Mad Max: Fury Road has seven nominations, although mostly for technical categories. Brooklyn and The Martian both get 6 mentions, with Brooklyn up for Best British film, as well as both Best Actress and Supporting Actress. The Big Short, The Danish Girl and Ex Machina all receive five nominations. Star Wars: The Force Awakens, surprisingly, only receives four nominations again all in technical categories. Even more surprisingly, the new James Bond film doesn't feature in the list at all!
The Full List Of Nominations along with the (usually correct) predictions of the bossman, Steve. Do you agree with his choices? Are there any nominees that shouldn't be there or, more likely, any missed that should be there? Let us know what you think!
