Film - Golden Raspberry Nominations

The nominations for this year's Golden Raspberry (Razzie) awards have been announced...

Jupiter Ascending, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 and Fifty Shades of Shit are up for six awards each, with Fantastic Four and Pixels up for five each. Johnny Depp is up for two (how dare they?!), one for Worst Actor for Mortdecai and a joint nomination with "his glued on moustache" as Worst Screen Combo for the same film. It's also nice to see Alan Smithee getting a nomination. If you don't know who Alan Smithee is, it's worth looking him up.

The Razzies, in case you don't know, are " a light-hearted parody of award shows in general (and The Oscars in particular)" and awards for the WORST rather than best in a wide range of film categories have been presented every year since 1980, making this the 36th event.

There is a positive thing to come out of every year at the Razzies and that is for the Razzie Redemeer award, where the Golden Raspberry committee nominate former Razzie recipients who have gone on to produce better things. This year's nominees are Elizabeth Banks, M Night Shyamalan, Will Smith and the wonderful Sylvester Stallone and the winner this year is being chosen by a public vote.

The full list of nominations is below, with some notable categories this year, and the winners (losers?) will be announced on the same night as the Academy Awards ceremony on 27th February.
