Documentary - The Bandit
The Bandit, a documentary about Burt Reynolds, Hal Needham and the making of Smokey & The Bandit, premieres at SXSW today...
Jesse Moss’ documentary has its world premiere today at SXSW in the Special Events sidebar and Reynolds is set to introduce the film for its noon screening.
Featuring new interviews with Reynolds, rare and never-before-seen archive material, including photographs, and footage from Reynolds' personal archive, as well as candid interviews with the late Hal Needham, of whom Reynolds once said "If Hal had been a woman, we would have had a wonderful marriage," and other close friends and key players, the documentary offers a kaleidoscopic perspective on their relationship, and tells an exhilarating and moving story about loyalty, friendship and creative risk.
Jesse Moss produces and directs the documentary and the film will make its television premiere on CMT in the US later this year.
