SotD - Cumberbatchly Numb

AlbieMedia's Song of the Day (SotD) is our choice of a single or album track that we think you need to hear. Today Susan Omand inflicts a version of a Pink Floyd classic on you like you'll never have heard it before (or again hopefully)...

Just when I thought I couldn’t dislike talented git Benedict Cucumberpatch any more than I already do...

On Wednesday, September 28th 2016 David Gilmour was on the third night of his five night stint at The Albert Hall at the end of his tour to celebrate his fourth solo album Rattle That Lock. As the last song of the night, he performed the Pink Floyd classic Comfortably Numb, from the album The Wall. The song was originally sung on the album by Roger Waters but, since Waters left the band under, shall we say, a bit of a cloud, it’s often been the case that a guest star has sung the Roger Waters part instead whenever Gilmour has played it at his solo concerts.

Cue Benedict Cumberbatch.

No, shit, Sherlock.
