SotD - #NotBaconBits: From Ain't That a Shame to...
Yesterday we had the #NotBaconBits connection of Ain’t That a Shame by Fats Domino. Susan Omand shows her working and comes up with today’s Next Song...
I was very VERY tempted to do a convoluted link here. From Fats Domino, I surmised that Domino was a character in the James Bond film Thunderball, where the main bad guy's name was Largo, so you very nearly got a classical day with Dvorak's Largo Movement from the New World Symphony (otherwise known as the Hovis bread advert). However, since I've done that before, I went with something else.
The first line of the Fats Domino song was “You made me cry, when you said goodbye” so here’s Cry Me a River, sung amazingly well by Alison Moyet as she moved from her pop persona of Alf with Yazoo into a sublime jazz and blues phase and this unplugged version is just stunning.
