Christmas in July - Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Susan Omand hates Christmas. So she thought why wait until December when the weather is rotten, shops are crowded and kids are annoying when you can get the "joy" of Christmas all over and done with in July - also when the weather is rotten, the shops are crowded and the kids are annoying...



OK so it might not quite be Winter yet in theory but it IS cold, wet and miserable for the most part so it's almost the same.



So what can I tell you about Navidavid Ames' (see yesterday for an explanation) choice of song to play for today? Well, it was written in 1934, and not, as many people think, for a film soundtrack. It has been covered by over 200 different recording artists from Barry Manilow to Billy Idol and, for a Christmas song, it never actually mentions Christmas.



I just pity the poor drummer on David's thrash metal version...
