Film - BIFA Craft Awards

The winners of the nine British Independent Film Awards craft award categories were announced yesterday...

The Death Of Stalin was the majority winner, taking three of the awards: Best Casting, Best Production Design and Best Make-up & Hair Design. Two films picked up two awards apiece with Best Editing and Best Music going to Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri while Lady Macbeth picked up Best Costume Design and Best Cinematography. Best Sound went to God's Own Country and The Ritual picked up the award for Best Special & Visual Effects.

This is the first time the British Independent Film Awards have created new award categories dedicated exclusively to craft and technical disciplines in British film-making. When the new categories were announced back in May, a BIFA spokesperson said "With nine new craft categories, we believe that we are much better-placed to recognize the wealth of exceptional British talent behind the camera, and many more craftspeople will benefit from the boost that a BIFA nomination or win can give to their career."

The rest of the BIFA Awards will be presented on 10th December.
