Film - The Razzie Nominations

The nominations for this year's Razzie Awards have been announced...

Always a day ahead of the Oscars, the Razzies or Golden Raspberry awards, the prize for the best of the worst films of the year, have announced their list of nominations.

The latest Transformers movie, The Last Knight, does best/worst with NINE nominations, including two in one category for Worst Supporting Actor for Josh Duhamel and Anthony Hopkins (yes, that Anthony Hopkins.)  Fifty Shades Darker was unsurprisingly next on the list with eight nominations and Tom Cruise's The Mummy also did well/badly with seven nominations.

A couple of things were a surprise though. The Worst Actress category offers up both Emma Watson for The Circle and Jennifer Lawrence for Mother! which have both been quite highly regarded as films by the critics, with some even saying Jennifer Lawrence should get considered for an Oscar. The other thing of note is that there's not a Razzie Redeemer nomination this year. The Razzie Redeemer award is for those who have previously won a Razzie but gone on to bigger and better things, thus "redeeming" themselves in the eyes of the judges. Previous Redeemer Awards have gone to the likes of Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone.

The winners of this year's awards will be announced on March 3rd, again the day before the Oscars ceremony. I wonder if anyone will turn up this year to pick up their award?
