After Ziggy and the Thin White Duke came the Berlin period and a trilogy of albums, of which Heroes was the second one. The title track from the album is said to have been inspired by two lovers, one from each side of the Berlin Wall. Fitting then that Germany hailed Bowie as an instigator of the fall of the Wall thanks to his performance of the song Heroes in 1987. This is the original version from a decade earlier though.
