SotD - Magic Mountain/Jon Jones & the Beatnik Movement
Neil Gardner is a bit of an audio guru, being the brains behind an award winning spoken word production company. But sometimes he likes to retreat from the digital studio to listen to some music analogue style, on vinyl. This time it's a 2 for 1 as he listens to a double A side ...
Format: 7″ black vinyl
Side A of a double A side from Come Play With Me: Magic Mountain, Zodiac
Full fat punk rhythms enmeshed with Fuzzbox vocals and a messy melange of music and lyrics. Pacey and toe-tapping and chock full of melodic aggression and an ethereal punk-prog aesthetic. Slaps you on the bum with its super tight dancing guitar break.
Finyl A Thought: a sexy three-way with Peter Gabriel, Fuzzbox and the Sex Pistols…in a garage…with DIY tools!
Side AA of a double A side from Come Play With Me: Jon Jones & the Beatnik Movement, No Brainer
A slap-happy smash of discordant thumping screeching guitars resplendent with heady screamo chorus. Dark alleyway aggression meets metallic hobnailed vocals whilst repetitive slashes of noise bellow from the bottom of a tortured soul. A musical call for attention wrapped up is heavy duty fuzz and all sorts of shouty goodness.
Finyl AA Thought: down deep… deep in the market's better regions of existence bellows the agonized cry of Jon Jones’s musical soul!
