Vinyl SotD - Milk Disco
Neil Gardner is a bit of an audio guru, being the brains behind an award winning spoken word production company. But sometimes he likes to retreat from the digital studio to listen to some music analogue style, on vinyl. This time he heads for the Milk Disco for a Weekender...
Format: 7″ Black Vinyl
Side A: Weekender – A Joy Division-esque slab of low, deep beats intertwined with a spokenword story and clashing guitars. A mysterious suburban wail, and escape hatch from endless streets of dull, lifeless existence. Sexy but scary, stomp-texting alternative ennui.
Side B: Twisted Wheel – a low-key funky 80s alt-baby of fuzzy guitar and great width. A larger-than-life feel suffused with engaging but held-back vocals. A strong 70s Bowie theme which builds in scope to a truly epic soundscape.
Finyl Thought: How low can you go to reach the soul of suburban existentialist primal scream?
