Today at the Proms - Proms 19 & 20
Continuing our daily coverage of what's on at The Proms 2018, Susan Omand has a quick look at the programme for Proms 19 & 20: Ten Pieces ...
Reminder - Watch Prom 12: Beethoven, Shostakovich & Rachmaninov on BBC Four tonight
I'm making the rash assumption here that both Proms are the same, just with two sittings as Ten Pieces is a BBC initiative in conjunction with CBBC to bring classical music to the 7-14 age group. You can find out more about the project HERE.
As far as the programme goes, there's a very nice mix of new and old here and it will be interesting to see what, if anything, we get told alongside the music itself. In the meantime, here's how the Ten Pieces project introduces Carl Orff's O Fortuna from Carmina Burana. Almost makes me wish I was back in school... OK, it doesn't, but you know what I mean.
Here's the full programme for today's Prom which you can listen to live on Radio 3 or on the iPlayer
