Today at the Proms - Prom 44

Continuing our daily coverage of what's on at The Proms 2018, Susan Omand has a quick look at the programme for Prom 44: Debussy, Ravel & Boulanger ...



Toutes les compositions ont en Français... ahem... We have a very French based programme tonight. Now that we know who Lili Boulanger is, I'm looking forward to hearing her more religious work.  Before and after her we get the dreamlike dwam of Debussy with his very famous afternoon faun taking the limelight at the start and his nocturnes helping us to wind down after the interval.

The evening is rounded off by a piece of music by Ravel that is now probably more famous to those of us of a certain age for a medal-winning skating routine than it is for the music itself...
