#NotBaconBits - From Halestorm to...
Yesterday we played Halestorm and a song featuring Evanescence's Amy Lee called Break In. So what's the connection for today's #NotBaconBits...
As always for #NotBaconBits, once you've listened to today's choice, we're looking for your connection suggestions for tomorrow's track.
Join in by tweeting us @albiemediaAM with the #NotBaconBits hashtag or adding your suggestions in the comments of our #NotBaconBits Facebook posts. It's like Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon but with music - remember the link can be as simple or contrived as you want, in any music genre (it doesn't have to be classical or pop) and you can link to anything about the song - the title, the artist, words in the song, something about the video ... anything as long as you can justify it. If we pick your suggestion for the link, you'll get the credit in that day's article and shout outs on our social networking streams.
Well, it was very nearly @BalinHenst's choice (apparently made with "a sponge and a rusty spanner in either hand") of The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths, using again the Lizzy/Lzzy/Elizabeth connection.
And a fantastic DOUBLE connection from @WolfPaw36 who went both for the name Lee and for the breaking in connection to suggest John Lee Hooker's Prison Bound Blues.
But in the end we decided to go for @ThoughtsinNate's connection, as detailed beautifully below:
"Evanescence lead singer Amy Lee is from Brooklyn. You know who else is from Brooklyn? One of the greatest rappers to ever do it: Nas. Therefore: NY State of Mind"
Round of applause for Nate! So what's the connection for tomorrow? Will you link to Nas, to rap, to New York? Have a think as you listen to today's #NotBaconBits song and let us know on Twitter or Facebook.
