The Journey EP is a 4 track hip hop odyssey written/performed by The Scribes frontman Ill Literate and produced by Risk1 Beats. The songs on it form one continuous narrative telling the tale of a man shipwrecked and lost at sea, an allegory for the voyage of self rediscovery that follows the ending of a long term relationship.

The lead single The Shipwreck is out now and available as a limited edition 7" picture vinyl exclusively from California based record label Stay Free Recordings. Featuring the beautiful original on-body vinyl artwork above, created by famed illustrator Chris Malbon (Disney, Marvel, Nike) the release continues the label's vision of goal of producing unique visual art.

The music video for the single was filmed over a number of days along the coast of the South West of England and on location at the historic SS Great Britain, with stunning results, showcasing both the music of The Scribes and the creative brilliance of video producers SG Media.
